Save, share, and import your wheels

Building a wheel takes a minute; rebuilding the same list every week does not. This guide covers the three features that stop you from starting over — saving a wheel to your account, sharing a link to the same wheel, and moving an item list in and out of the tool.

All three are built into the wheel you already use in your browser.

Save a wheel to your free account

Saving needs a free account. When you are signed in, the Save Wheel option stores two things: the wheel title and the item list. Nothing else is required, and the next time you need it you open your account, pick the wheel, and it is exactly as you left it.

That combination — a title plus a list — covers most recurring jobs:

• Your standing list of team members for standup pairings.
• This month's prize draw roster, which changes as new names arrive.
• A class list that gets reused for grouping and for picking a volunteer.
• The dinner options your household always argues about.

Give each wheel a name you will recognise months later. "Friday prizes — October" beats "wheel 2" every time.

Share a link so someone else opens the same wheel

Every wheel can be shared as a link. Send the link and whoever opens it sees the same wheel — the same title and the same items — so there is no confusion about which list is the real one. The person receiving the link does not need an account to open and spin it.

This is the part that makes remote draws work: one person prepares the list, everyone else joins from the link, and nobody is editing a different version.

Export a list, then import one

You can export the items from a wheel, and you can import a list from somewhere else. That is the fastest route when your list already exists — a spreadsheet, a CSV column, or a chat message full of names. Prepare it outside the tool, paste it in, and the wheel is ready.

All the usual extras are there when you need them: spin speed (slow, normal, fast), sound effects for the spin and the winner, color themes, an item gap toggle, fullscreen, a wheel title, a de-duplicate option, a clear button, and elimination mode, which removes the winning slice after each spin. There are also around twenty built-in presets — Yes or No, Numbers 1-10, Dice Roll, Coin Flip, What to Eat, Team Picker, Truth or Dare, Workout, and more. Choosing a preset simply loads those items into your wheel so you can edit them, which is a quick way to see how a finished list is structured. The interface is available in 34 languages, switched by subdomain.

Habits that save real time

• Use one separator when you prepare a list. Pick commas or line breaks and stick to it before importing, so names split cleanly instead of arriving as one long entry.
• Keep each event as its own saved wheel. A separate wheel per week or per class is easier to find than one long list you keep editing.
• Export after a big edit. A plain list you can paste back in is a simple backup if you later clear or rewrite the wheel.
• Share the link rather than a screenshot. The link shows the live wheel, so whoever opens it can spin the same list.

A weekly prize draw, end to end

Prepare the names in a spreadsheet, import them, add a title such as "Week 12 prizes", and save the wheel. When draw day comes, open your account, pull the wheel up, and share the link with the group. Spin once, then reset the statistics before the next round so the counts stay separate.

Do that once and the setup cost is gone — from then on it is a link and a spin.
